Segmented Contact Lists: Overview

Signpost allows you to segment your customers into their own lists for more targeted marketing. Do you have a list of past customers that you'd like to send a specialized offer? Follow the steps in the articles listed below to create and manage your lists, then you'll be able to send a campaign to that specific audience.

How To: Create a Segmented Contact List

1. Log in to your Signpost account and click the Contacts tab

2. Click Manage Lists and select Create a New List from the drop-down menu

3. Type in your desired list name and click Create List

How To: Delete a Segmented Contact List

Note: This action will only delete the list itself and will not delete contacts located on that list from your Merchant Center.

1. Log in to your Signpost account and click the Contacts tab

2. Click Manage Lists and select the list you'd like to delete

3. Click Edit List Settings and select Delete List from the drop-down menu

4. Check the box to indicate that you understand deleting this list "will remove any offers and auto-send settings attached to this list," then you can finalize your decision by clicking Delete List

How To: Rename a Segmented Contact List

1. Log in to your Signpost account and click the Contacts tab

2. Click Manage Lists and select the list you'd like to rename


3. Click Edit List Settings and select Edit List Name from the drop-down menu


4. Enter the new name you'd like to use for that list and click Update List Name

How To: Add or Delete Contacts from a Segmented List

1. Log in to your Signpost account and click the Contacts tab

2. Click Manage Lists and select the list you'd like to add contacts to, or delete contacts from


3. Use the search bar to find any of your existing contacts by name, email, or phone number and easily add them to your list. Alternatively you can click upload a file with more contacts to upload a .csv or .xlsx file of contacts to your list


4. To delete any contacts from your list, click the x on the far-right side of each contact. They'll be deleted from that list, but will remain an active contact in your account and general contact list


How To: Turn Feedback and Reviews On/Off for a Segmented List

Note: These settings are list-specific and only apply based on the most recent list a contact was added to. For example, if one of your contacts is on List A and then you also add them to List B, only List B's settings will apply to the contact.

1. Log in to your Signpost account and click the Contacts tab

2. Click Manage Lists and select the list whose settings you'd like to edit, from the drop-down menu



3. Click Edit List Settings and select Edit Auto-Send Settings from the drop-down menu


4. Toggle off any campaigns that you don't want to send to this list (you can choose whether this applies to email campaigns and/or text campaigns by toggling your choices on both the Email Campaigns and Text Campaigns tabs)

5. Once you have made your preferred changes, click Save Settings
