Importance of Referrals
Every business owner knows that the best way to grow their business is through word-of-mouth. People want to know that their money is going to be well spent, and what better way to ensure that than with an endorsement from a friend or family member who has already had a good experience?
In the last few years, companies have started to reward people for making referrals and tracking the number of people their customers recommend. Signpost now makes this possible for your business by tracking how many people have been referred and by whom.
The Referral Process
The Referral campaign encourages your customers to refer their friends using a unique referral link. Signpost uses a 3-step process to generate new referrals for your business:
- The referral request campaign is sent to subscribed contacts (excluding contacts that submitted negative feedback). Each contact receives their own unique referral link with instructions.
- Your contacts can share their referral link by entering their friends' information, forwarding the email itself to their friends, or posting your referral link to Facebook or Twitter.
- When their friends open the referral link, they can choose to claim your New Customer Offer. Once claimed, their contact information is automatically added to your Merchant Center.
- Optional: A single referral bonus and multi-referral bonus can be awarded to contacts that submit the referral(s) to your business.
Whenever a referral is submitted, you will receive an email notification from Signpost. You can view contact information for the referral, as well as the person who referred them. This gives you full visibility into how many people are submitting referrals and who has earned any referral incentives.
Note: In order for Referrals Requests to be sent, you must have a New Customer Offer set up; this is because the New Customer Offer is what your contacts send their referrals to entice them to try out your business.
